Managing Fun Summer Outdoor Activities

Too hot outside?

Know what's best for Safe Desert Hikes. Typically that's NOT summertime desert hiking.

Yes, Tucson has that desert dry heat! Some people chuckle 😁 over that statement. But it really does make a difference.

Yet that doesn't mean it's wise to hike through the Sonoran Desert when temperatures start getting upwards of 90oF/32oC! That's not safe. Every year people hike in summer, getting heat exhaustion, even dying.

Instead, we suggest going into nearby mountain elevations. Where there's much cooler temps.

Then you can still have summertime hiking enjoyment.
